SEEKING BREAST CANCER PATIENTS AND SURVIVORS

The BCIF is seeking women diagnosed with breast cancer – both currently in treatment and breast cancer survivors – to provide testimonials of their experience for a short fundraising documentary.

The documentary aims to raise awareness about a groundbreaking breast cancer treatment; a new breast implant cover infused with chemotherapy drugs that would provide targeted, local chemotherapy to breast tissue after surgery. This material would have the potential to mitigate the myriad side effects that come from traditional, global chemotherapy treatment.

The BCIF will be launching a fundraising campaign in fall 2025 with the aim of raising at least 2 million dollars to run the first clinical trial of the drug coated implants. Successful preliminary trials have demonstrated that the drug coated breast implant kills cancer cells on site. Additionally, the coating helps prevent capsular contracture of the implants themselves, reducing the need for multiple surgeries due to complications with the implants.

In the long run, the BCIF aims to change the landscape of breast cancer treatment with this new implant, and to change the lives of women going through it. We would love to speak to you about your experience as a breast cancer patient or survivor, and how this technology could have changed your experience.

We are seeking written testimonials to begin with. From those testimonials, we will reach out to some of those open to being filmed for the documentary to help us with our fundraising efforts.

We thank you for sharing your story,

The BICF Team
